Baronial Acres Grange operates within a meticulously structured legal architecture designed to protect private food sovereignty, safeguard real property assets, and maintain absolute compliance with local, state, and federal statutes in North Plains, Washington County, Oregon.
All individuals and organizations enrolling in any membership tier enter into a formal, private covenant with the Baronial Acres Grange Association. The terms set forth below govern the legal distinctions, statutory rights, financial stewardship protocols, and liability limitations of our operation.
1. Corporate & Fraternal Entity Separation
LLC vs. AssociationA strict legal firewall exists between the commercial/asset-holding entity and the private social/fraternal membership body:
- Baronial Acres Grange, LLC: A registered Oregon Limited Liability Company holding exclusive legal title to all real estate, timber structures, subterranean cellarage, machinery, intellectual property, and registered livestock genetics in Washington County, Oregon.
- Baronial Acres Grange Association: An unincorporated private fraternal agrarian association. Membership in the Association grants private access to direct-produce allocations, seasonal feasts, and guild privileges.
- No Equity or Control: Enrolling as an Individual, Family, Founders Circle, or Sovereign Guild member grants fraternal participation rights only. Membership explicitly does not confer equity ownership, voting shares, financial control, or legal claim over Baronial Acres Grange, LLC or its physical assets.
2. Statutory Operating Exemptions
ORS 616.680 - 616.715All direct-to-consumer harvests, raw dairy runs, hearth bakehouse yields, and fermented cellar allocations produced by Baronial Acres Grange are distributed under specific Oregon and federal statutory protections:

Informational Notice: Pursuant to Oregon law, direct farm products distributed under the Oregon Farm Direct Marketing Law are produced directly on-farm and are not subject to standard retail grocery inspection. By joining the Association, members explicitly acknowledge and accept these terms for all private allocations.
3. Financial Allocation & Tithe Operating Fund
Accounting AllocationMembership dues collected by the Baronial Acres Grange Association are managed under strict stewardship ratios:
- 10% Tithe Allocation: Ten percent (10%) of all gross membership dues (Individual, Family, Founders Circle, and Sovereign Guild) are immediately sequestered into a dedicated Tithe Account used exclusively to support agricultural tithe obligations, charitable agrarian outreach, and community benevolence.
- 90% Seasonal Event Fund: The remaining ninety percent (90%) directly funds the operation of our bi-annual member feasts (including the autumn End-of-Season gathering and the costume-clad Tudor Styled Christmas Party), educational workshops, and member allocation logistics.
4. Allocation Priorities & Guild Hierarchy
Harvest RulesSeasonal harvests, bakehouse yields, and cellar stocks are distributed according to explicit priority rules:
- Tithe Reservation: The first ten percent (10%) of all physical crop, honey, dairy, and cellar yields are drawn for tithe and stewardship reserves before member distribution begins.
- First Fruits Privilege (Sovereign Guild): Members of The Sovereign Guild hold absolute first priority to select from remaining harvests immediately following the tithe drawing.
- Priority & General Shares: Remaining allocations are offered sequentially to Founders Circle members (with guaranteed 30% reduction), Family Household members, and Individual members.
5. Liability Limitation & Farm Visit Terms
ORS 30.687 - 30.697Under the Oregon Agritourism Liability Act (ORS 30.687 - 30.697), an agritourism professional is not liable for an injury to or the death of a participant in agritourism activities resulting from the inherent risks of agritourism activities.
Members visiting the physical Grange in North Plains, Washington County, Oregon assume all inherent risks associated with livestock handling, working agricultural machinery, rustic timber structures, masonry hearths, uneven terrain, and Pacific Northwest weather conditions.
